The Cabbagetown Festival and the Riverdale Farm Fall Festival have been held for the past nineteen years on the weekend after Labour Day and have grown to attract over 20,000 people. The festival starts on Thursday night and continues through Sunday: Parliament Street is closed to traffic on Saturday for the annual parade and all-day entertainment. Sidewalk cafés and garage sales abound.
The Cabbagetown Art & Crafts Sale is held in Riverdale Park, right beside Riverdale Farm in the centre of Cabbagetown. The farm represents a turn of the century small family farm with a farmhouse, barn, and a variety of heritage breed farm animals. The Riverdale Farm Fall Festival includes craft demonstrations, corn roasts, fiddle playing, and children's activities. You will also find great restaurants and, for out-of-town visitors, bed & breakfasts close by. You can also find out what else is going on during the Cabbagetown Festival by visiting www.cabbagetownfestival.org.
